Most of the time you get feed with very expensive penetration tests which will be conducted 100% by automated tools and you pay a few thousand euros/dollars for the service. We do not rely on such software. We use the exact same code attackers use in the wild, we only use automated applications to find interesting scripts or standard information about what services are running, but there is always human interaction and handwork involved so it is realistic. Automated tools offten just work with pattern matching that means if a file was renamed it wont be detected. Doing such tests by hand is much more effective.

Packet 2 - Attack Recovery

You got hacked, but you dont know what todo now ? Did the attacker leave any traces? if so, where can you find them ? Attackers offten install backdoors which hide their presence via kernel level, so any user including root which works in user space, wont notice the connection, nor the data the attacker places on your System.
